2013 Promising Professional Award
In March of 2013, I was awarded the 2013 Promising Professional award by the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Special Library Association. The award allowed me to attend the 2013 SLA Annual Conference in San Diego. More information about my conference experience can be read in the article I wrote for the chapter newsletter, SLA in San Diego: Lessons Learned Through Networking, or from my conference planner. GIS Classwork
While in my MLIS program and after, I've had a special interest in Geographic Information Systems and the use of geographic data in professional settings. In April 2012, I completed the Getting Started with GIS online course from the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA). The final assignment I completed included creating a map using ArcGIS online.
